A Perfect Girls Trip In Mystic, Connecticut

Mystic, CT was the perfect destination for a girls trip with my grandmother, mother and sister! The coastal town is located between New York and Boston. You can find this New England charm right off the Mystic River. The town has amazing cuisine and the cutest shops.

When walking along Main Street you will come across adorable shops and to die for places to dine. You can’t miss the Mystic Drawbridge that gets you from one side of Main Street to the other. This Drawbridge is one of the most popular spots in Mystic as it opens every hour, at 20 till the hour. So, when you are waiting for the drawbridge to open you need to pop into Mystic Drawbridge Ice Cream! I loved their “Vermont Maple Nut” ice cream.

The Mystic area is full of activities. There are tons of vineyards, wineries and breweries. The town is built around so much history. When visiting, the Mystic Seaport Museum is the place to stop to learn more. If spending the summer in Mystic, then there are tons of beaches to visit as well as boating and sailing adventures to take part in.

I am a BIG foodie, and I love eating at local restaurants at all the different places that I visit. Here are a few places I loved dining at in Mystic.

Grab a bite with a view of the Marina at Red 36. I got the shrimp tacos as a starter and the shrimp and grits as my meal. It hit the spot! If you are craving Italian, then dine at Anthony J’s Italian Bistro. The minestrone soup was amazing (if I could eat it every day, I would). For all you pizza lovers out there, you have to dine at Mystic Pizza. If you are not feeling pizza then you still need to stop by as the Mystic Pizza film featuring Julia Roberts was based off this restaurant and the town.

For all you coffee and sweet lovers like my self check out Sift Bake Shop. Of course you can’t pass up the sweets when they are coming from famous pastry chef Adam Young.

As I mentioned before, the town is full of adorable shops. I wanted to share a couple of my favorites. Rochelle’s Boutiques and Jooj are two places you don’t want to miss!

When finding somewhere to stay check out The Whaler’s Inn or Hilton Mystic. The Whaler’s Inn is located on Main Street, where you can walk to all of the shops and restaurants. The Hilton Mystic is about a 10 minute drive from Main Street, but is walking distance to the Olde Mistick Village and the Mystic Aquarium, which are two destinations you do not want to miss. We had the coolest Deviant Donuts at the Vault Coffee Roaster located in the Old Mistick Village. They only offer these donuts on Saturdays and Sundays, so make sure you do not miss them! Additionally, Mystic has numerous whimsical Inns to choose from.

Mystic is the perfect town to have a relaxing girls trip. We dined, we laughed, we shopped and we enjoyed learning all about this sweet little town!
